Rock Blog Tour- Skinn Jakkitt

So, here we are in the 21st century and getting up close and personal with performers and musicians has never been easier! How cool is that? The day after thanksgiving and the hard work of Rock n'Roll doesn't stop because it's a holiday. Skinn Jakkitt is a Hard Rock/Metal band from Hickory,  NC.

Take a moment and watch their video!

It's right here for your viewing pleasure and convenience, go ahead, I'll wait.

Good, wasn't it?

Here is some more from these guys:

Q:So, for the uninitiated, where does the name (and spelling) for Skinn Jakkitt come from?

A: The name was one of many thrown into a hat. It was the lucky pull. The spelling was chosen because if you put it into a search engine and spell it right, it is the only thing that pops up.

Q:Do you have any surprising or unexpected influences? (i.e. Air Supply or something like that?)

A:  Suprising influences I would say our drummer Jeff Price is a huge Stryper fan.  Greg our singer likes to perform spot on Journey at karaoke nights. (There is YouTube footage as well as "The Humpty Dance") Barry Sams is a huge Yanni fan. I think it's the hair. Shane is a huge Shinedown and Halestorm fan. Hayworth loves him some Streisand and Pop Evil!

Q: What is your favorite type of venue to play?

A: Venue, I'm not gonna lie,  I like a big venue. Where you can hear really well but the close up crowd is right up at the stage and you can feel the energy. Club shows hold a special place in our hearts.

Q: Blog tours are kind of a newer phenomenon, any thoughts on how it's going?

A: The blog tour so far has been really cool. I like how we have got to see many different ways and interpretations of our craft. They have all been insightful and for the most part the questions have been really different. Not the same old recycled stuff you always get.

Q: If you look at my blog, I'm singing in a rock n roll "extravaganza" Women 2 Women II this week to benefit charity, what are your favorite charities?

A: Anything to do with Cancer research or to help those affected by the disease. Also any natural disaster relief efforts.

I have to say that as I have grown older, I have not mellowed out (at least not yet), I seem to appreciate guitars and harder rock more. These guys have great energy and you should check them out HERE.

Thanks for joining us and have a great rockin' holiday season!

The Party's Over

As of this week, my Vampire group will no longer be meeting at Camelot, which will probably be turning into a Walgreens. DJ Journeyfer will just be a guerilla of the 80s, hitting out of the blue and then sinking back into the night (thanks to the committments for that one...)
See you all soon.

If I could stop the rain

Since noone actually reads this, I've stopped posting.
I still spin on Thurs. nights (except this coming Thurs, 8/4/05, I'll be out of town) but there are 3 of us that spin now so I usually go on second or third and only for about 1 1/2 hours. Everyone's still invited...game still goes on...
